Fuck The Big Boys 2023-06-29

I'm getting tired of garbage traffic on my web site. It isn't like the traffic is making my site inaccessible to regular humans, it is just that in principle they're wankers and they should fuck off. Typical examples of the crap I frequently see are:

There is no need for anyone (Google in the first case) to be HEADing all my posts. If they really gave a shit they could just look at the sitemap.xml I made for them. There is also no need for bytedance (the douchebags that own tiktok) to constantly be hitting the same gitsucks URLs over and over again often requesting nothing more than different translations from rotating AWS addresses. Nobody [or VERY close to nobody] in any Asian country gives half a shit what I think and are totally not interested in the lame code I have hosted on my Gogs instance. Google and Amazon are just giving these douches the resources and tools they need to hassle small timers. Over time it just helps to contribute to fewer and fewer people willing to selfhost which means more and more of the Internet is becoming corporate trash with no purpose but to shill some product. It really isn't hurting my server, but it is making my [and YOUR] digital experience shittier.

So... I'm giving up and blocking you arseholes. Am I blocking legitimate indexing services, VPNs, or real people? Perhaps. Those people need to use service providers that don't fuck with small time selfhosters. Sorry folks, supporting these dicks is just helping to legitimize their shitty policies.
