Snapper! 2020-06-16

This morning when we went for our dog walk we found this little critter at the end of the driveway. She was probably lookin' for a place to drop off her eggs. The turtle population seems pretty healthy here this year and I am hoping that is a sign of a healthy lake. It seems the great blue heron, fisher, muskrat, and rabbit populations are also doing well.

turt1 Gotta drop some eggs.

turt2 Don't hassle me when I am doin' this.

When we got back to the house she was already gone. Hopefully covering up her clutch with some sand and gravel by the shoreline. Fortunately the raccoon population is pretty low here so the eggs may have a better chance of not being dug up and eaten.
